The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses under three faculties: Arts, Science and Engineering, and consistently ranks among the best in India.

As an educational body, it started its humble journey as the National Council of Education in 1905 and was designated Jadavpur University in 1955.

JU ranks among the top Engineering and Technology universities in India, and ranks highly for publications, overall performance, placement opportunities and global alumni recognition. It is also among the 100 best universities in Asia.

The Sydney Chapter

Sharing these objectives, the Sydney Chapter of the Jadavpur Alumni was formed in 1994. With a strong membership, it continues as a forum for former students of this premier institution to meet socially, exchange ideas and reminisce about good days at the university.

The chapter also funds a small number of underprivileged but deserving students at JU throughout their studies. It is our way of giving back to the University, and proof that support for education need not be limited by distance.
